1. Will my cat actually use and scratch your cat furniture instead of my furniture?
Our cat trees, cat condos, and scratching posts are designed to encourage your cat to scratch, sleep, and play on them. Your cat instinctively seeks an inviting and safe place to relax just like cats in the wild. Cats avoid weak trees and limbs outdoors to avoid falling and injury so they will avoid unstable cat furniture as well. Cats prefer our large round scratching posts instead of small square 2x4's seen on some cat furniture since the round shape visually resembles and feels like a tree trunk and is much easier on the joints to climb. Our beds are round with tall sides since cats prefer to sleep in a supported position and with a level of privacy. All cats can be trained to scratch our furniture instead of yours and most are naturally attracted to the design without training.
2. Shouldn't I just buy cat furniture from a pet store?
We encourage you to visit pet stores and compare their models with our products. Measure the height, bed and house diameters, base, and platforms. Models at pet stores are not purchased direct from the manufacturer and prices are usually inflated above retail so pet stores can make a profit. Pet stores do not deliver so transporting and carrying a large cat condo into your home might be difficult as well. However, your purchase from us will be delivered right to your door.
3. Are you a reseller of cat furniture or do you actually build them?
Cat Quarters, Inc. is the manufacturer of our cat furniture. Ninety-five percent of cat furniture sites online are resold and you will not deal with the actual builder. Shipping delays are frequent and if your purchase arrives damaged or defective you may have to deal with a third-party.
4. Should I buy a cat tree, cat condo, or scratching post?
We want you to purchase a product you can afford. All of our products are made from the same quality materials. Prices are based on how much material is used to construct the furniture. That said, we do suggest buying a cat tree or cat condo since some cats will not use a scratching post based on our experiences. Cats are more likely to have an interest in a cat condo or cat tree since it's more stable, they can climb up them, and there are beds and houses to sleep and play in to keep their interest.
5. How soon will my order be shipped?
We normally ship products within 1-3 business days. Please click here to read our shipping policy.
6. Do you offer a money back guarantee?
Your satisfaction is important to us. If your cat doesn't use our products the item purchased can be returned. We offer a 14 day money back guarantee for items returned unused and in new condition. Please click here to read our return policy.
7. How much weight can your cat trees and cat condos hold?
Our products have been stress tested to hold over 200 lbs.
8. What materials do you use to build your products?
5/8" thick OSB Board - Indoor rated and heavier than plywood.
3/8" thick Brazilian Sisal Rope - Untreated and strong enough for years of scratching.
1/4" thick Round Paperboard Core - Holds hundreds of pounds and more costly than 2x4's.
Stain Resistant Plush Carpeting - Unlooped fibers that will not snag your cat's claws.
Upholstery Staples - Blunt tipped and holds carpet down strong.
9. What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. We also accept PayPal. Payment can be made by check through PayPal, however, we do not accept checks by mail.
10. Why shouldn't I just build my own cat furniture?
Building cat furniture from materials at your local hardware store is simply not safe for your cat. The sisal rope found in hardware stores is oiled and treated with pesticides. Constructing a cat condo using sharp nails and staples can be a serious danger to your cats. Wood posts splinter and can cause injury to your cat's paw once the material covering it has been worn from scratching. Building an unstable cat condo can cause serious injury or even death to your cat. The cost savings are usually minimal and it takes many hours to build quality cat furniture.
11. How difficult are your products to assemble and what tools do I need?
Assembly is required but the included instructions with photo illustrations makes it easy. You will need a 1/2" wrench for assembly but most parts are assembled by simply hand tightening.
12. How do I teach my cat to scratch the cat furniture?
Most cats will be naturally attracted to our cat tree, cat condo, and scratching post designs. However, you should encourage your cat to play and scratch on the furniture with various enticing cat toys and offer plenty of praise when doing so. We do not recommend the use of catnip directly on cat furniture since some cats and especially kittens will avoid all items associated with it. Instead, we recommend using catnip on individual cat toys to see how your cat responds.
13. How do I contact you with additional questions?
We welcome your questions and will respond to inquiries within 24 hours. Please feel free to contact us at sales@catquarters.com with any additional questions you might have.
